I am feeling like a FUNKY DUNKY

While I await for the new summer collections from OPI to be released (May 2011) I was in desperate need of a Spring into Summer color… Looking in my OPI Volt, yes I have a "Volt" ... I found my Funky Dunky from the Shrek Collection 2010. It’s a spring purple that one cannot live without!

OPI Manicure

I blogged about the Yves St Laurent Manicure a little while ago on IAMSUPERGORGE which inspired me to do the OPI Manicure. I suggest 30-45 minutes for the best result, and it's really simple and easy.

Materials needed:
  1. Two OPI Colors
  2. Manicure Strips or Scotch Tape
  3. Base & Top Coat
  4. OPI Correct & Clean up pen(Optional)
Begin by using a base coat. Only use ONE coat because it will help remove your polish in the end. Desired colors:

San Tan-Tonio
Do You Think I'm Tex-y

Step 1
*Please excuse the ashy cuticles

Step 2
Apply your second color
Please be sure to allow enough time for your first coat to dry before applying the strips or tape
Step 3
Apply Top Coat to finish the look
Remove the strip or tape soon as you finish one hand. Then follow up with ONE coat of top coat.

Cleaned my look using the OPI Correct & Clean up pen
You can use a Q-tip (dipped in polish remover) or a nail brush to clean your edges

Other colors used:

Tip: The Color to Watch
Base: Austin-Tatious Turquoise

The Pirates are coming... The Pirates are coming!

I just found some pictures of the new OPI Summer collection (via @MBeautyLounge).  Pirates of the Caribbean Brights 2011 Collection. The movie will be in theaters May 20th. This collection is filled with shimmery pastel colors. Keep in mind the pictures can be deceiving... So the colors may not mimic the actual color of the lacquer when you use it.

OPI decided to release Shatter in a different color, Silver. Sure to be another top seller. The collection itself should hit your local beauty stores before the release of the movie. If you look at the patterns of the other OPI collections that are based off of a movie, then you know it will be available for purchase prior to the movie release date. Keep an eye out sometime around April/May. Until then make sure you check out the Spring Collection, Texas Collection by OPI. Now available in your local beauty stores and approved online vendors.
